A professional link in bio

A professional page is not a boring page, and it is not a corporate one. It is a page that survives being opened by somebody deciding whether to give you money, which is a different test to being opened by a fan.

The short answer

The short version. The exact settings are below and they take about ninety seconds to enter. Every colour here clears the readability floor our editor enforces, so nothing gets quietly corrected after you save it.

What the professional style is actually for

The distinguishing feature is restraint about the things that signal amateurism: too many colours, animated anything, and a link to a personal account nobody asked to see.

It suits consultants, agencies, B2B freelancers and anybody whose visitor might be a client. If that is not you, the recipe still works; it just means you are picking a look rather than matching one.

What makes a professional page work

  • Shadow buttons, white on white. A raised white card on a white page is the most conventionally professional treatment available, because it is what every well-made product interface looks like. It reads as competent without saying anything.
  • The system typeface, on purpose. It renders instantly, it matches the device it is on, and it is the one choice nobody can call a taste mistake. This is the only style where the safest option is also the best one.
  • Cool neutrals rather than warm. A slate-tinted grey reads as considered in a professional context where a warm beige reads as personal. It is a small difference and it is the one that most changes how the page is received.
  • Lead with proof, not with links. The order matters more here than the styling. What you do, then evidence you have done it, then how to start. Social accounts last, and only the ones relevant to the work.

And then the part styling cannot fix

Every style on this site is a decision about how the page looks. The order of what is on it is a separate decision, it matters more, and it is the one nobody revisits. A beautifully styled page with the wrong thing at the top is still a page with the wrong thing at the top.

The way this one goes wrong

Treating professional as an instruction to remove all personality, which produces a page indistinguishable from ten thousand others. The restraint is in the colours and the motion, not in the writing. Say what you actually do, in your own words.

What this page says, in six lines

  • Shadow buttons, white on white.
  • The system typeface, on purpose.
  • Every colour above clears 4.5:1, so nothing gets corrected after you save.
  • Styling is the smaller half. What is at the top of the page matters more.

The other recipes are on the library index, and if you would rather describe a look than enter values, the adaptive page covers what the product does once the styling is settled.
