Per-link click-through rate

A link with 40 clicks from 100 views is doing far more work than a link with 300 clicks from 6,000 views, and raw click counts hide that completely.
Most tools in this category only give you lifetime click counts, which is neither of these numbers. A lifetime count cannot distinguish a link that got 4,000 clicks last week from one that got 4,000 clicks over two years, and those are opposite situations. - Change one thing. Wait a full week, or a few hundred views on the changed version, whichever is longer.
- Compare like for like: a full week against a full week, the same source against the same source.
Why your numbers are lying to you slightly

The referrer problem is the big one and it is worth being concrete about. When someone taps a link inside the Instagram app, the page opens in Instagram's own browser, and that browser very often sends no referrer header at all. Nine reasons nobody is clicking, in the order they occur
1. There are too many links
This is the most common cause by a distance. Every additional option costs the visitor a decision, and the decision people make when a page has fourteen buttons is to leave. 2. The first link is not what the traffic came for
The visitor arrived from a specific video, a specific post, or a specific episode. If the top of your page is a generic "shop" button and the thing they were promised is fourth, most of them never scroll far enough to find it. The first link should be whatever your most recent content pointed at.
3. The labels describe destinations, not outcomes
"Spotify" is a destination. "Listen to the new single" is an outcome. "Website" is a destination. "Book a free 15 minute call" is an outcome. Destination labels ask the visitor to work out why they should care. Outcome labels answer it. This is the cheapest change on this list and it routinely moves the number.
4. Something on the page is dead

5. The page is slow
Almost all bio-page traffic is mobile, often on a poor connection, arriving through an in-app browser that starts cold. A page that takes three seconds to paint has lost a share of its visitors before they saw anything. Client-rendered pages that fetch data after the JavaScript loads are the worst offenders here, and several products in this category work that way.
6. The order has not changed in months
Your content changed. Your links did not. The top slot is still occupied by the thing that was current in March, and every new visitor is being shown a page optimised for an audience that has moved on. Nobody edits their bio page on schedule, which is precisely why this happens to almost everyone.
7. The same page is shown to every source
Your TikTok audience and your LinkedIn audience want different things, and one static order cannot be right for both. If you have referrer data, look at the per-link rates split by source. It is common to find that your best-performing link overall is nearly invisible to your largest traffic source.
8. There is no reason to act now
Bio pages are read in a scroll. A link with no time pressure and no specificity ("my shop") loses to one with either ("20% off until Sunday"). This is not a trick, it is just the difference between a signpost and an invitation.
9. The traffic itself is low intent
Sometimes the page is fine. If your call to action is "link in bio" in a caption nobody reads, the visitors who arrive are wanderers rather than buyers. Look at your per-source numbers: if one source converts at four times another, the problem is upstream of the page and the fix is in your content, not your links.
Fix them in this order
Ordered by effort against likely impact. Do not do all of these at once, because you will not know which one worked.

- Rewrite every label as an outcome. Fifteen minutes, no downside.

- Then, and only then, change the design. Design is the thing everyone wants to fix first and it is almost never the cause.
